Orange, Bitter Essential Oil (Citrus Aurantium v. Arama)

ORIGIN: Italian

EXTRACTION: Cold expression of the almost ripe peel.

SCENT: Fresh, citrus and tangy, similar to sweet orange with a slightly bitter undertone.

Bitter Orange essential oil is a refreshing and uplifting tonic. It is very similar to Sweet Orange but is said to have stronger properties. It is also comforting, soothing and often used to promote a restful night. 

Bitter Orange is often used in skincare to help people with oily skin and particularly teenage problem skin. 

Blends well with the following essential oils: Neroli, Lemon, Clary Sage, Myrrh, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Lavender.

PRECAUTIONS:- Bitter Orange essential oil is phototoxic and should therefore not be used before going in the sun or on a sunbed (for at least 12 hours after use). It is generally non toxic, non irritant and non-sensitising, however, the Limonene may cause a skin irritation in come individuals.
