ORIGIN: Italian

EXTRACTION: Cold expression of the almost ripe peel.

SCENT: Fresh, citrus and tangy, similar to sweet orange with a slightly bitter undertone.

Bitter orange essential oil is a refreshing and uplifting tonic. It is very similar to sweet orange but is said to have stronger properties. Bitter orange essential oil is also comforting, soothing and often used to promote a restful night. 

Bitter orange oil is often used in skincare to help people with oily skin and particularly teenage problem skin. 

Blends well with the following essential oils: Neroli, Lemon, Clary Sage, Myrrh, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Lavender.

PRECAUTIONS:- Bitter orange essential oil is phototoxic and should therefore not be used before going in the sun or on a sunbed (for at least 12 hours after use). It is generally non toxic, non irritant and non-sensitising, however, the Limonene may cause a skin irritation in come individuals.
