EXTRACTION: Steam distillation of the roots.

SCENT: Warm, musky and woody aroma. 

Valerian root essential oil is soothing, balancing and calming. It is good for everyday stresses and strains and is very grounding. It can also be a sedative and has hypnotic qualities.

As this oil has a musky aroma it is often blended with another more fragrant oil.

Blends well with the following essential oils: Lavender, Cedarwood, Petitgrain, Rosemary and Mandarin

PRECAUTIONS: Valerian root essential oil is non-toxic and non-irritant, however it may cause sensitisation in some people. 

Please note Valerian root oil should be used in moderation as large amounts can cause headaches and delusions. Because of this it should not be used for more than a month at a time without a break.
